  1. So after one day, I have followed around a docter and also two Nurse Practitioners throughout the day. The Doctor's responsibilties include seeing long term patients and checking their vitals to ensure that they are in proper health and that they are taking care of themsleves. The Nurse Practitioners are in charge of picking up extra patients from the doctors; such as broken fingers or tendinitis cases. One of the Nurse Practitioners is in charge of all coumadin patients that attend Metro Health. Coumadin is a blood thinner used to prevent strokes or blood clots. I was present at every coumadin exam and watched all the procedures. I aslo participated in an ear procedure along with a TB test. Overall, my mentors have been awesome and have really helped me to experience the different activities that go on during the day in a typical health building.
